Needing to add something special to his photographic business, Vuyo Majebe came up with Vuyo’s Photo Booth. The ability to offer Instax prints to clients has given him the step-up he needed.

Can you tell us more about how you came up with the idea for Vuyo’s Photo Booth?
I needed to bring a ‘wow-factor’ to my photography services and came up with the idea for Vuyo’s Photo Booth by thinking outside the box. In 2014 I had an Instax mini 8 which develops photos instantly to give to clients on the spot. The idea worked well but it was not enough, I knew I could do better. I did proper research and found out about photo booth services.

How does your Photo Booth work, and how do you use Instax in this setup?
Vuyo’s Photo Booth is one of its kind. Its aesthetic design allows it to sit on top of a table and rotate 360 degrees for those around the table to adjust it for a selfie. It can use any of the Instax printer for prints, and the printer is nicely covered by the design of the booth so people can’t really see it. People are drawn together to click and create, to see the prints develop and to pass it around and share.

What type of events do you get booked for?
We cater for all types of events and themes as per customer’s brief. This includes corporate events, year-end functions, weddings, family reunions, office parties and even get-togethers that simply celebrate life. When our booths are added, something magical happens.

Which Instax products do you use most? Why do you prefer them?
Our business invests in Fujifilm gear since we believe that the brand caters well to our creative photography business. The Instax range is user friendly and brings fun to the people. We mostly use the Instax printers for the Photo Booth and also offer Instax mini 11s for the clients to entertain themselves as photographers.

You also offer clients the ability to make use of the Instax QR code printing ability – in which ways do they use this?
Adding a QR Code to the photos turn them into practical souvenirs. An attendee or guest will likely keep and display their photo as a memento of a great vibe and experience. They can use their printed photo to scan the QR Code which will then link them to the information you want to convey to customers.

Do you ever print images to Instax straight from a Fujifilm camera?
Yes, I do. I use a Fujifilm X-T30 camera which is remotely connected to an Instax mini Link or Link Wide printer using a Fujifilm Camera Remote App.

Tell us more about your photo guestbook?
We always strive to give a perfect presentation which means that we are constantly innovative with every service we produce – creativity is our strength. The guestbook is an amazing product that adds a personalised touch. It’s a 20-page A5 with black pages and a leatherette cover. After taking and developing the photos, we then paste them onto the pages and hand out colour pens for the guests to write down sweet little messages to the host of the event. It’s a practical idea that completes our instant photo printing service.

What do you like most about Instax?
We are passionate about photography and that is the reason why we print out our clients’ photos instantly – the joy when they receive the prints is priceless.
Instax meets our vision and has added value to our service, bringing excitement that triggers our creativity. We always look forward to new Instax products and the latest apps to implement in our business. We can’t wait to get our hands on the new Instax Pal and create joy with photos.
