1What is the INSTAX UP! App?
INSTAX UP! is a smartphone App you can use to scan your INSTAX prints, then view your digitised prints in two different ways. We plan to add more features in the future to help you have even more fun with INSTAX!
2Is the App free?
Yes, the App is free. However, please keep in mind that any charges for data usage are the responsibility of the user.
3Which smartphone OS is supported?
Android 10.0 or later iOS 14.0 or later"
4Is user registration required?
No, user registration is not required to use the App.
5Are tablets supported
Yes, any tablet with a compatible OS is supported.
6What is the profile displayed on startup? Can I change it?
If you register, the profile you create is used by the App to send push notifications about relevant INSTAX information.It can be changed after registration from the "Menu" screen in the App.*Not displayed for Europe.
7What happens if I delete the app? How do I continue to use the app on a new phone?
Scanned INSTAX photos and other data is deleted when the App is deleted. To keep your data intact when changing to a new phone, you'll need to back up and use the "Data transfer" function first as indicated below.Before deleting the App and changing to a new phone, select "Data backup" on the "Menu" screen. On the "Data transfer" screen, select "Data backup". Follow the instructions on the screen to back up your data. Install and launch the INSTAX UP! App on your new smartphone. On the "Menu" screen, select "Data backup". On the "Data transfer" screen, select "Restore data". Follow the instructions on the screen to restore your data.
8Can any INSTAX photo be scanned? What sizes are supported?
Any INSTAX mini, SQUARE or WIDE instant film sold by FUJIFILM can be scanned into the INSTAX UP! App.
9How do I scan my photos? My photo isn't scanning properly (scanned photos are distorted).
Follow the procedure below.From the homescreen, select "Scan". Select your film size on the top of the screen. INSTAX mini, SQUARE and WIDE instant film are supported. Place the print on a flat surface that is a different colour to the print and clear the nearby area of any possible obstructions. Ensure the widest area of the INSTAX print's border is situated at the bottom of the screen when viewing it on the App. Hold your smartphone over the print so that it appears large and centred on the screen. When a green frame is displayed around the print on the App, press the button in the centre of the screen to scan.
10What is light reflection reduction? How do I use it?
Light reflection reduction is a scanning mode that removes glare on prints during scanning. Follow the procedure below.From the homescreen, select "Scan". Turn on the light reflection reduction switch in the lower right of the screen. Follow the procedure shown in "How do I scan my prints?" to scan print. Follow the on-screen guide that is displayed to take four shots where the purple markers on the screen align with the four corners of your print. The App checks that the corners of the print and purple markers are aligned before automatically scanning. The App will then create a digital image without glare.
11What's the difference between the two options?
List view allows you to view a list of all the digital INSTAX photos you have scanned. It's the perfect way to organise your photos.Box view shows a randomised view that realistically simulates how all the INSTAX photos you have scanned would look if kept in a box. Have fun rummaging around for your favourite photos!
12How do I change the photo display in box view?
There are three ways to change the photos displayed.Shake your smartphone to shuffle the INSTAX photos randomly around the screen. You can also do this by pressing the button in the lower left of the screen while in box view. Press the button in the lower right of the screen while in box view to make up to 8 photos fall from the top of the screen and arrange themselves at random. Photo position and orientation can be adjusted manually. For more information, see "Can I choose how prints are arranged in box view?"
13Can I choose how photos are arranged in box view?
Yes, you can. There are two ways to change the position of photos displayed while in box view.Press and hold on the photo, then drag it. Use two fingers on the photo to adjust the orientation. Using two fingers, select the photo you want to adjust, then move your fingers in a circle to rotate the photo. Make sure to keep your fingers pressed on the screen whilst doing this.
14Can I share my box/list on social media? Can I Crop these images?
Yes, you can. Use the share button on the upper right of the screen to crop your image, then share the image on social media.
